June 2008

Greetings!

Here’s some recent good news from my work as a consultant.

Recent Writings...

I met a June 1st deadline to finish a manuscript for Praeger Press (Houghton Mifflin Harcourt) on my visioning work with clients. Sometimes I felt a bit like a monk in a library getting it done though!

To read my brief Expert Advice column on “Creating Change Fast…That Lasts” - by getting everyone in the same room - published recently at MassNonprofit.org click HERE.

Recent Client Work...

Here are a few of the high stakes – high impact, large group Stakeholder Summits I’ve facilitated recently, alone or with colleagues:

Helping 125 faculty, staff, and administrators at Bunker Hill Community College create action plans to implement goals for the coming year - in a day.

Helping 70 community and academic physicians and staff create a shared future vision for the 6000 member Partners Community Healthcare, Inc., network - in a day and a half. To hear what the PCHI CEO said about it click HERE.

Helping 100 members of the Society for Simulation in Healthcare create national standards for simulation learning and assessment - in a day.

Helping 100 members of the New England Clean Energy Council map out priorities and strategies for workforce development in the clean energy economy – in half a day. Later this month I will help 135 members of the six-state Council identify regional initiatives to achieve their clean energy targets – in half a day.

Signing off...

Actually I did sneak away for a meditation retreat last month like a real monk.

If you have 18 minutes to spare, take a mini-retreat and check out this amazing, moving talk by an eminent brain researcher on the onset of her stroke and subsequent near-death, and what it revealed to her about mind, consciousness, and choice (featured in Time, the NY Times, and on Oprah). Take care,
Jay
