Jay VogtWelcome!

Recent Writings...

I am pleased to announce that my article Emergent Strategy: Unpredictable Ways to Release the Natural Intelligence of Your Organization has been published in The Handbook of Business Strategy 2005. This article offers practical applications for a new view of organizations as living things. Two cases are featured – my work with Nortel Networks using Open Space Technology and my work with the Maynard Public Schools, using a methodology of my own design called “Grounded Visioning.” Click here to read the full text.

A shorter version of my Open Space work, written for web-savvy CEOs on-the-go, was recently featured in Mass High Tech. To read that article, Open Space: The Face-to-Face Meeting Method Invoking the Power of the Web, here.

Recent Client Work...

Emergency Room at The Center for Medical Simulation, Boston, MAThe Center for Medical Simulation at Boston’s Partners HealthCare is a national leader in improving patient safety through dynamic trainings for clinical teams in simulated emergency room settings. This celebrated team asked me to lead its internal team-building sessions. The work went so well that we have since partnered to provide cutting-edge leadership trainings, using their unique simulation environment, for non-clinical teams of healthcare and insurance administrators.

Jim Heffernan, CFO of Massachusetts General Hospital’s Physicians Organization, had this to say about it:

"The experience provided my team with a unique stimulus. It generated very successful performances by the entire team throughout the year."

Our work was also recently featured at the 2004 International Meeting on Medical Simulation. I'll be presenting more at the Granite State EAP Chapter meeting on June 10th in Manchester, NH, with the title: "Fast Formation Teams: Lessons from Teams in Dynamic, High Pressure Environments." Contact me for more information.

Signing off...

That’s it for now. I’ll keep these short. They’re designed primarily so we can stay in touch. If you have any questions or comments for me, don’t hesitate to call or email.

And do let me know what’s up with you too!

Take care,
Jay
